About Cynthia Angeles
Behind Cynthia are the lovely vineyards of Tokara Restaurant in Stellenbosch, South Africa
Born and raised in
Manila, Philippines, Cynthia lives in Washington, DC with her husband, Michael. She loved writing, music, and art but concentrated on piano for
many years. In late 1993, she took art classes at Guy Mason Studio Arts. Painting has since become a
passion. She went to art school to further sharpen her skills. Her piano is
still tuned every year but has, sadly, played second fiddle to her
art.
In 2003, Cynthia's youngest niece, Sheila, lost her limbs to a bacterial infection called meningococcemia. Her inspiring story of hope and courage moved Cynthia to write again. She poured her heart into the book and the painting which was used for the cover image. A Life Reclaimed was published in September 2009.
